Since January we've racked up 7,000 miles on our 2009 H-D Street Glide (FLHX). It is a wonderful machine that has provided comfort and style during our daily commuter usage as well as a bunch of weekend trips. To make the bike even more touring friendly we consulted our Harley Parts and Accessory book to add a few more comfort options.
A must have item was a sissy bar for the occasional passenger but also for its ability to safely hold a travel bag. The saddlebags are big, but we're often cramming the bags full of tripods and other photo gear. To further aid in the hauling department we went with a luggage rack too. Since the bike looks so good naked, we got the quick detachable system complete with security locks. The only other part we wanted to change was the stock shorty windscreen; it looks sporty but was just a little low and caused some helmet buffeting out on the open road. Check out the install that was accomplished with just a few basic hand tools.
